Quotable Quotes
January 26, 2008“Nature cannot be illegal.” - Terence McKenna
Typically I do not add my comments here, but for this I will.
(Please refer to my previous quotable quotes to help understand this.)
Nature cannot be illegal, but a lot of it is.
(For those that dont know what Im referring to there will be other post perhaps going into more detail. And for those who think they know…your off.)
Fact is nature is free, and is a part of us - in a way that sustains and nurtures us. (hence the term mother earth.)
Much of nature is researched & synthesized for medications, and these synthetics cause all ranges of issues that the natural counterpart does not.
I for one am not against ‘playing god’ - per say, but will say that it would appear that knowledge without wisdom is dangerous. Much of todays pharma falls into the dangerous category. The 3rd leading cause of death is/was due to medical treatment. - that should encouarage you!
Its all about a buck. Hemp was made illegal years ago because of its threat to monopoly.
The uses of hemp are really amazing, reaching all aspects of life. Unlike cutting down the rain forest for paper, hemp grows fast and stops that monopoly that started years back.
As for medicinal usages, read the medical journals and periodicals and find that THC for years has been researched and found beneficial in science and medicine…so much so that they synthesized it. All the while the public has a sterotypical view of hemp & THC.
Mind you, the hemp (Seeds) you find in stores across the U.S. have no THC and is obviously legal. (they have to import from Canada, as you cannot grow in the U.S., but they can buy and sell legally at your local health store like Whole Foods.)
People really are not educated on much more than what they learned from their milieu.
School is a joke, and most Americans agree the school system sucks. Lets be ‘Frank’, most of what you learn in History you have to unlearn or actually relearn properly.
Science & Astronomy…recently, instead of upping the number of planets in the solar system (due to scientific discoveries that would lead to quite a few more…), they voted to not add the planets and to downgrade pluto while they were at it.
So, whatever you learned in school, you have to re-learn.
The whole war on drugs. Anytime you hear the word war, you know its destined to fail. Who wins these everlasting battles of good and evil? I havent seen one side win yet. Seems funny if you think about it, as if this were the very purpose of a good and evil ideology to exist…to keep people at the poles and not see they are connected by the grey mass in the middle. But oh well, cant think to much, surely we know all we need to know.
What does it matter what I say? Not much, those that hear me already have the predisposition to understanding what Im saying. Not because they are special, but because this is the track there brain is currently on. Like draws like.
This is not a ‘paper’ on hemp. But indeed it is about the fact that the world seeks control, in all areas. There is no true competition, nor should there be. What do I mean? Consider this.
Instead of two sides working against each other on the same ‘project’ to see who comes up with the better idea, would it not be more of an interest to pool resources and ideas to further a cause. I think so, and infact I believe so. Now this is what makes all the difference.
When you realize that it does not depend on what others feel or think, and that you control your destiny, as it were…then you arrest back the power that was originally taken from you. Not by force, but that which you willingly gave over. No one can take what is true away from you, it is with you and in you always. (”The truth is near” - Bible)
Ah, again, this is why I typically dont post in the Quotable Quotes. This hits on so many different aspect that such a short exposition on the subject(s) does not do it justice. But when I realize that those who read this will either get it, because they are already thinking on these lines…or they wont no matter how much I talk…then it becomes irrelevant, and I again realize Im writing for my own joy. - and thats what blogging is all about, and that is what makes blogging enjoyable for others to read.
peace
